Today, at the Regional Council of Lazio, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ombudsman of the Lazio Region and ANCI Lazio, with the aim of strengthening cooperation between institutions and municipalities in protecting citizens' rights and promoting democratic participation.
The meeting was an opportunity for regional institutions and local administrations to discuss the experiences and tools available to citizens to exercise their rights, with the aim of improving the dialogue between citizens and public administration and thus promoting greater transparency.
Speakers included the President of the Lazio Regional Council, Antonello Aurigemma, Giosy Pierpaola Tomasello, Secretary General of the Lazio Regional Council, Donato Robilotta, Director of the Conference of Legislative Assemblies of the Autonomous Provinces of Italy, Mario Ciarla, Lazio Regional Councillor, Marino Fardelli, Ombudsman of the Lazio Region and President of the National Coordination of the Ombudsmen of the Italian Regions and Autonomous Provinces, Daniele Sinibaldi, President of ANCI Lazio and Mayor of Rieti, Manuel Magliocchetti, member of the Executive of ANCI Lazio and Secretary General of Federsanità Lazio and Luca Masi, Secretary General of ANCI Lazio.
The protocol aims to strengthen the role of the Regional Ombudsman as a guarantor of citizens' rights and to foster greater cooperation with Lazio municipalities, represented by ANCI Lazio, also through the sharing of good practices and operational tools useful to local authorities.

“The signing of this protocol is an important step towards bringing institutions closer to citizens - explains Daniele Sinibaldi -. As ANCI Lazio we want to work together with the regional ombudsman to strengthen the channels for listening and protecting rights. One of our objectives is to encourage the opening of branches in the territory, in collaboration with the municipalities, to make this instrument more accessible and closer to local communities.“.
“This protocol - added Manuel Magliocchetti - represents a further step towards a public administration that is ever closer to citizens. Strengthening the collaboration between institutions and municipalities means making protection instruments more effective and ensuring a greater ability to respond to the needs of the community“.
The agreement aims to consolidate dialogue between citizens and institutions and to promote shared initiatives to improve access to ombudsman protections and services throughout the region.
