Announcement 2026

The Department for Youth Policies and Universal Civil Service has published the 2026 volunteer call for applications for Universal Civil Service projects.
The tender provides opportunities for 65,964 young people and is available on the Department's website. https://www.politichegiovanili.gov.it/comunicazione/news/2026/2/bando-ordinario-2026/ and on https://www.scelgoilserviziocivile.gov.it/. The application is submitted by accessing the DOL (Domanda On Line) platform https://domandaonline.serviziocivile.it via SPID.
You can submit only one application, choosing only one project and one of its implementation sites, by [time] 14:00 on 8 April 2026 (extended to 14:00 on 16 April). Questions can be cancelled and resubmitted until 2:00 PM on April 7, 2026 (extended to 2:00 PM on April 15).
The following requirements must be met in order to perform community service:
• Italian citizenship, or citizenship of another Member State of the European Union, or citizenship of a non-EU country provided the candidate is legally residing in Italy;
• be at least 18 years old and not have exceeded 28 years of age (28 years and 364 days) by the date of application;
• not having received a conviction, even if not final, for imprisonment exceeding one year for an intentional crime; or for imprisonment, even if for a lesser term, for a crime against a person, or concerning the illegal possession, use, carrying, transport, import or export of weapons or explosives; or for crimes relating to membership or aiding and abetting subversives, terrorist groups or organised crime.
If you intend to participate in projects for young people with fewer opportunities (for projects that allow it), subject to possessing the above-mentioned requirements, you must belong to the specific category indicated by the project.
The eligibility requirements must be met at the time of application and, with the exception of the age limit, maintained until the end of the service.
Young people who
• due to the effects of risk situations related to the COVID-19 epidemiological emergency and/or related to the safety of certain foreign destination countries, have voluntarily interrupted the service or because the project in which they were involved has been definitively interrupted by the organisation;
• have suspended the national or universal civil service as a result of sanctioning proceedings against the body;
• have interrupted the National or Universal Civil Service due to exceeding the permitted sick days, provided that the period of service rendered did not exceed six months;
• have already completed civil service within the framework of the European programme “Youth Guarantee”, within the framework of the European experimental project "International Volunteering Opportunities for All" and within the framework of projects for Civil Peace Corps;
• have already carried out the “regional civil service”, i.e. a service established by a regional law or that of an autonomous province;
• in the course of 2021, they were put into service to participate in a project funded by the PON-IOG “Youth Guarantee” and subsequently, following checks carried out by the Department, excluded due to a lack of possession of the additional requirements referred to in Article 3;
• have been admitted to Civil Service on previous selection rounds and subsequently took maternity leave, but did not complete the six months of service.
Young people who
belong to the military bodies and police forces;
• have interrupted a national, universal civil service project or one funded by the PON-IOG “Youth Guarantee” before its scheduled expiry and intend to reapply for these types of projects;
• have, at the time of publication of this notice, an employment/paid collaboration relationship with the project holder, whatever the title, or have had such a relationship lasting more than three months in the 12 months prior to the date of publication of the notice; these cases also include paid internships.

A CIE or SPID with security level 2 is required to submit an application for Universal Civil Service.
Getting SPID credentials is very easy, you just need to have:
• an email address
• The mobile phone number
A valid identity document
