The Consulta delle Donne Amministratrici ANCI Lazio in San Felice Circeo: between confrontation, planning and memory

Press Office

Last Monday, in the splendid villa of architect Antonio Valente in San Felice Circeo, a new and intense meeting of the Council of Women Administrators of ANCI Lazio, thanks to the hospitality of Councilwoman Rita Rosetto and the Valente family, who are thanked for their care and careful organisation.

The meeting represented an important opportunity for exchange and shared construction among local administrators, at a time in history that requires vision, listening and concrete policies for equality, inclusion and equity.

Several actions to be implemented in the coming months were defined during the day. These included:

  • the initiation of a gender balance working group, coordinated by Giulia Lorenzon (Municipality of Labico), with the aim of preparing an operational vademecum for local administrations;
  • the launch in October of a call for the census of associations active on gender and equal opportunities policies in the territories;
  • preparation of the Consulta panel at the ANCI Lazio Training Camp, scheduled in Sperlonga from 25 to 27 September, entitled “Women, work and territory”;
  • thematic meeting on gender medicine, as part of the health prevention campaign;
  • a new stage in the See On Tour scheduled in Subiaco, at the Monastery, for a moment of confrontation on good territorial practices.

The day ended with an intense speech by Prof. Antonio Mantua, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the architect's death Antonio Valente, an innovative genius in the fields of architecture, stage design and town planning, originally from Sora. Among his best-known inventions are the rotating stage and the Thespis Chariot, a demountable travelling theatre that democratised access to theatre culture throughout the country.

“Remembering figures like Antonio Valente is not just a tribute to history, but an exercise in active citizenship,' said Simona Mulè, Coordinator of the Council -. Recovering the stories of communities means enhancing an intangible heritage made up of identity, vision and talent. It is a task that, as administrators, we have a duty to pursue: to build policies that are more aware, inclusive and rooted in the cultural values of our territories.”
