The’Contingent and Urgent Order No. Z00003 of the President of the Lazio Region, Francesco Rocca, containing the extraordinary measures to combat the West Nile virus, Following the increase in the number of infections and some deaths recorded in recent weeks in the areas under the jurisdiction of the local health authorities of Latina, Rome 6 and Frosinone.
The ordinance requires municipalities with established viral circulation execution, with urgency and without delay, of extraordinary larvicidal and adulticidal pest control interventions, in accordance with the indications of the territorial ASLs and with the collaboration of the’Lazio and Tuscany Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute, in charge of verifying the interventions and coordinating the disbursement of contributions.
The interventions will be financed through extraordinary regional resources, allocated by a special resolution. The measure is part of the regional and national strategies to combat arboviruses, based on the National Prevention Plan 2020-2025.
ANCI Lazio invites all interested administrations to implement the provisions in a timely manner and to coordinate with the Local Health Authorities and the Zooprophylactic Institute to ensure the effectiveness of the interventions and access to the funds provided.
