It took place on Friday 28 November, at the premises of Experience Europe - David Sassoli in Piazza Venezia, the Regional Assembly of ANCI Youth Lazio, entitled “In the Yard of the Future” .
The initiative brought together young female administrators from all over the region, offering a space for discussion dedicated to the challenges of the coming years, between European policies, local communities and public communication.

The opening of the work

The day was opened by Angelo Mattoccia, Regional Coordinator ANCI Giovani Lazio and Mayor of Pofi, who emphasised the value of the commitment of young administrators:
«We are not the best, but we are those who have chosen not to delegate the choices of our community. We have the vision to build a different future, knowing that often very few will say thank you to us. Instead, today I want to say thank you: thank you for your courage, for your passion and for what you do every day in your territories.».

Institutional greetings included Svetlana Celli, President of the Capitoline Assembly, who recalled the importance of youth participation in local government.

The national contribution

Also participating in the work was Domenico Carbone, National ANCI Youth Coordinator and Mayor of San Costanzo, who pointed out that «actually solving people's problems is often a greater satisfaction than any thanks».

Carbone emphasised the training as an essential tool of administrative action, recalling the role of the national school Publica promoted by ANCI:
«No one taught us how to administer public affairs. Each of us brings different experiences: that is why training is essential».

He also referred to the opportunities offered by the National Youth Fund, stressing that this is not a marginal intervention:
«We are not talking about the usual kids playing in the oratory field. We are talking about companies, services, projects that generate value in the territories. Young administrators bring resources and real opportunities».

The day's thematic panels

The assembly was divided into several in-depth discussions, coordinated by the representatives of the ANCI Giovani Lazio regional council:

  • “Europe Shipyard”, dedicated to the young protagonists of the 2028-2034 programming, with speeches by Paolo Alfarone and Stefano Di Palma, moderated by Federico Pompili.
  • “Building Community”, focused on culture, work and social responsibility, moderated by Alessio Rotondo, with the contribution of Regional Councillor Daniele Leodori.
  • “Administering is communicating”, a reflection on the daily communication of municipalities, with Daniele Cinà and Livio Gigliuto, moderated by Serena Pandolfi.
  • “Young administrators tell their stories”, a space of direct testimony dedicated to experiences from the territories.

A growing network

The day ended with final greetings from the Regional Coordinator Angelo Mattoccia, who reiterated the centrality of the ANCI Giovani Lazio network in supporting the skills, energy and visions of the region's under-40 administrators:
«We are a community that builds, every day, and brings real opportunities to its territories. This is our building site of the future».
