The role of the Ombudsman at the centre of the debate in the Regional Council
It was held today in the Mechelli Hall of the Latium Regional Council, the meeting entitled “The right of access to documents, data and information. Real transparency and instruments of protection”.”, promoted by the Regional Ombudsman e President of the National Coordination of the Ombudsmen of the Regions and Autonomous Provinces, Marino Fardelli.
An appointment dedicated to the themes of’civic access, of the administrative transparency and the relationship between citizens and institutions, with the participation of the President of the Regional Council, Antonello Aurigemma, and the President of the National Anticorruption Authority (ANAC), Giuseppe Busia, who emphasised the value of transparency as “the heart of democracy” and “an instrument of trust between public administration and citizens”.
Among the topics addressed was the strategic role of the Ombudsman as a guarantor figure and liaison point between citizens and public administrations, capable of reducing distances and promoting a culture of legality and participation.
Anci Lazio, which has long since initiated a cooperation agreement with the Lazio Ombudsman, supports efforts to disseminate good practices of transparency and protection of rights, including through joint training and support activities for local authorities.
A shared path to make the more accessible, clear and citizen-friendly public administration, valuing listening and dialogue as instruments of everyday democracy.
