To encourage increasingly informed participation in democratic life and to strengthen the digital skills of citizens and local communities. This is the objective of the new training course promoted within the framework of the European MOVES – Mountain Voices for Engaged and Sustainable Democracy project, co-financed by the European Union through the CERV (Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values) Programme, in which ANCI Lazio is participating.
The initiative will take place online on the days of Friday 17 July and Monday 20 July 2026, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and will guide participants through a journey dedicated to the themes of civic participation, digital citizenship, and the design of concrete initiatives for local areas.
This is a single training course divided into two complementary sessions, therefore attendance is required on both days.
The first session will delve into the tools and opportunities of civic participation, focusing on participatory budgeting, digital citizenship, combating disinformation, valorising local community resources, and funding opportunities offered by the European Union, through the analysis of concrete cases and successful experiences.
The second day will, instead, be dedicated to a practical workshop during which participants, organised into small groups, will develop proposals and micro-civic actions using collaborative design tools, with the aim of transforming the acquired knowledge into concrete initiatives for their own territories.
The programme is aimed at citizens interested in actively participating in the democratic life of their communities, young people and young activists, representatives of civil society organisations, associations and informal groups, as well as officials and staff of small Municipalities, who will take part in the activities with a view to discussion and collaboration with other participants.
The activities will take place online on the Zoom platform, in English, with subtitles in Italian and Portuguese. Participation is completely free.
Upon completion of the course, a certificate of participation, training materials, an operational toolkit, and further useful resources for continuing activities within the MOVES project community will be issued.
