Local dialogues on the EU: institutions and local authorities hold discussions in Rome on Europe

On Tuesday 7 July, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the WeGil in Rome will host “Local Dialogues on the EU – Bringing Europe Closer to Local Communities,” an important day of discussion dedicated to local and regional administrators. It's designed to delve into the role of European policies in territorial development and the opportunities offered by EU programmes.

The initiative will see the participation of ANCI Lazio, represented by the President Daniele Sinibaldi, who will be speaking during the institutional greetings, and by the Secretary General Luca Masi, Present at the day's work and meetings. Their participation attests to the Association's constant commitment to supporting Lazio's Municipalities in strengthening their relationship with European institutions and in fostering greater knowledge of the opportunities offered by the Union.

The event, promoted by the Regional Council of Lazio, the Conference of Presidents of Legislative Assemblies of the Regions and Autonomous Provinces, and the European Committee of the Regions, with the support of the Representation in Italy of the European Commission, the Office of the European Parliament in Italy, EU information networks, and the ANCI network, will offer participants an opportunity to engage with representatives of European, national, and regional institutions on the main tools available to local authorities.

Key themes for the day include the launch of the EU Local Councillors network, the European network promoted by the European Commission and the Committee of the Regions, the role of institutions involved in communicating European policies, and funding opportunities for territories. In the afternoon, a training session will also be held as part of the SITE – Sistema Italia in Europa project, focusing on how to prepare project proposals for European programmes funded by directly managed funds.

Throughout the duration of the event, the “European Village” will also be active, a space dedicated to networking and meetings between institutions and administrations. ANCI Lazio will be present with its own stand dedicated to municipal projects, offering participants the opportunity to learn about initiatives developed to support local authorities and to discuss with the Association's representatives.
