Ten territorial conferences animated by Anci Lazio to involve municipalities, institutions and economic and social stakeholders in defining the priorities of the new programming. Final event in Rome.
Building the future of Lazio through shared programming capable of valorizing territorial specificities and responding concretely to the needs of local communities. This is the objective of the series of territorial conferences promoted by the Lazio Region and animated by Anci Lazio, which in the coming weeks will involve all the provinces of the region in a process of listening, dialogue and participation aimed at contributing to the definition of the 2028-2034 Unified Programming.
The new programming cycle represents a strategic step for the development of the Region, which is called upon to define investment priorities and coordinate the use of European, national and regional resources in an organic and long-term vision. This is a challenge that requires constant dialogue between the different institutional levels, so that the programming choices can translate into effective interventions for economic growth, the strengthening of services, the improvement of infrastructure and social cohesion.
In this context, the direct involvement of the municipalities takes on fundamental importance. Lazio, in fact, presents profoundly different territorial realities, ranging from the metropolitan area of Rome to the small centers of the provinces, to the mountain municipalities and those in the interior, which face critical issues related to depopulation, accessibility of services, and development opportunities. The new programming must therefore take these differences into account, promoting a balanced and sustainable growth of the entire regional territory.
The program promoted by the Lazio Region and organized by Anci Lazioprevede ten territorial conferences, two for each province, and a final event in Rome, during which the results of the comparison and the emerging proposals will be presented.
The meetings will be attended by mayors, local administrators, representatives of institutions, trade associations, trade union organizations, universities and third sector organizations, through a participatory working method structured into six strategic areas: competitiveness and innovation, green transition and energy, infrastructure and mobility, work and inclusion, territories and cohesion, and administrative capacity.
The comparison will be developed through a model inspired by the Rubik’s Cube, symbol of the interconnection between the different dimensions of development. Each working group will be called upon to identify the positive experiences to be consolidated, the criticalities to be overcome, and the new proposals to be submitted to the attention of the Lazio Region.
The initiative is part of the path already initiated by the Lazio Development Observatory, which carried out a survey of the needs of the region’s 378 municipalities, highlighting the importance of strengthening the administrative capacity of local authorities to ensure the effective use of public resources.
The contributions collected during the ten conferences will be compiled into a single document that will be delivered to the Lazio Region, serving as a tool to support the definition of strategic priorities and institutional discussion on the new European programming cycle.
«Programming represents one of the fundamental tools through which to build a concrete and lasting vision for Lazio. Programming means identifying priorities, using resources effectively, and above all having the ability to respond to the real needs of communities. For this reason, the dialogue with the territories and with local administrators constitutes an essential step: it is the municipalities, through direct knowledge of their own realities, that can provide a decisive contribution in identifying the necessary interventions, declares Giancarlo Righini, Councillor for Economic Programming and Budget of the Lazio Region.
«The challenge of the 2028-2034 Unified Programming – continues Righini – is to build a shared strategy capable of bringing together European, national and regional resources, overcoming fragmented interventions and fostering a comprehensive vision of development. Dialogue with ANCI Lazio, with the mayors and with all economic and social actors represents a central element of this path. We want programming to increasingly be the result of a concrete dialogue between institutions and territories, so that every investment can contribute to reducing disparities, enhancing local potential and generating new opportunities for growth for the entire region».
«We want the new programming to start with the municipalities, which are the first to know the needs of their communities,» declares the president of ANCI Lazio, Daniele Sinibaldi. «From the capital to the small town in the hinterland, every territory must be able to contribute to defining the investment priorities of the coming years, valorizing what has worked and identifying what needs to be improved. But listening is not enough: it is also necessary to strengthen the capacity of the municipalities to plan and implement interventions, so that the available resources can be transformed into concrete results. Institutions, businesses, workers and associations must be protagonists of a common path, based on collaboration and the sharing of choices. It is with this spirit that we intend to program together the future of Lazio».
