Coordination table to adopt an integrated strategy for the infrastructure system of regional green and cycle-pedestrian routes

Memorandum of Understanding with the Latium Region that aims to achieve strategic objectives to support the territory through cooperation for the development of an interconnected infrastructure network, with thematic green routes (religious, cultural, naturalistic, etc.) and regional cycle-pedestrian routes, respecting environmental sustainability and accessibility for all. The objective is to create a solid basis for planning and implementing shared territorial policies, especially for green and cycle-pedestrian routes. The main activities envisaged by the memorandum of understanding are:

improve the operational capacities of municipalities, increasing their competitiveness and attractiveness towards resources and funding opportunities available from European, national and regional funds;

foster structured and continuous forms of cooperation between the Municipalities, ANCI Lazio, the Lazio Region and other public bodies operating at various institutional levels (including nature parks, reserves, mountain communities, the Lazio Industrial Consortium, Land Reclamation Consortia, etc.), carry out continuous quality control and assessment activities of the main greenways and cycle and footpaths, with a view to ensuring their functionality, accessibility and compliance with the established quality standards;

encourage communication and enhancement initiatives for the entire regional system of green, “thematic” and cycle-pedestrian routes, to promote awareness of the opportunities offered by the area and encourage conscious and sustainable use by the population and tourists.
