With the XIV edition of “The Future Surveyors Design Accessibility”, FIABA ETS and the National Council of Surveyors and Graduate Surveyors (CNGeGL) renew their commitment to promoting a culture of inclusive design and the removal of architectural barriers.

The award ceremony for the 14th edition will be held on 4th June 2026 at 11:00 AM, at the Sala Trilussa of Cassa Geometri, in via Luisa di Savoia 17 in Rome.
The initiative involves students from Technical Institutes in the CAT – Construction, Environment and Territory – course, who are tasked with designing interventions to eliminate architectural barriers and innovative solutions inspired by the principles of Universal Design. This is a training program that, over the years, has helped raise awareness among thousands of young designers on issues of inclusion, usability of public spaces, and accessible design.
According to FIABA ETS, the competition has represented for over thirteen years “an important initiative for raising awareness and disseminating the culture of accessibility”, involving schools throughout Italy through concrete projects capable of improving the quality of life in the territories.
Over the previous editions, hundreds of projects dedicated to urban regeneration, and the accessibility of schools, parks, seafronts, historic buildings, and public spaces have been presented. This work has allowed students to directly confront real-world problems and national regulations on the removal of architectural barriers.
