The Coordination of Regional ANCI Associations, promoted and hosted by ANCI Lazio, has kicked off in Latina: a national event bringing together Presidents, Secretaries and Directors of regional associations from all over Italy.
Three working days, from 15 to 17 September, between Latina and Sperlonga, designed to strengthen discussion and collaboration among the various territorial entities and build a shared vision for the future of the Regional ANCI.
Following yesterday's welcome of the participants, today in Latina the work of the Coordination got underway with a discussion session dedicated to the role, prospects and activities of the regional associations. At the heart of the initiative is the shared drafting of the Position Paper, the “White Book” of the Regional ANCI Coordination, which will bring together proposals, priorities and guidelines to be presented at the upcoming national ANCI Assembly in Verona. This process compares experiences and models developed across various Italian regions, with the aim of increasingly strengthening the role of the Regional ANCI as a liaison between the National Association, local authorities and regional institutions.
The Latina event also represents an opportunity to present some of the experiences and projects undertaken by ANCI Lazio, sharing good practices and tools developed to support local authorities.
The programme then continued with the transfer to Sperlonga, including a stop at the Fattoria Solidale del Circeo, as part of the SOLEIL project. Here, the participants of the Coordination Committee stopped at a space dedicated to inclusion, a social farming project that offers pathways to employment and social inclusion for vulnerable or disadvantaged people through agricultural activities, food processing and hospitality. The visit was guided by Romina Papetti, project coordinator of the S.O.L.E.I.L. project, and Marco Berardo Di Stefano, president of the Network of Social Farms, who illustrated the projects implemented within the facility to those present. To enrich the occasion, the people welcomed into the Farm prepared an aperitif for the delegations of the Regional ANCI, offering an opportunity for direct contact with the activities and stories of the project.
The journey will conclude on 17 September with the working sessions led by ItaliaCamp, dedicated to the participatory formulation of the proposals that will feed into the position paper.
According to ANCI Lazio, hosting the Coordination represents an important opportunity to work together as a system, network skills and experience, and build new prospects together for Italian municipalities and regions.
The journey will finally intertwine with the launch of the ANCI Lazio Training Camp in Sperlonga, scheduled for 17 and 18 September, creating a week entirely dedicated to discussion, training and the new challenges facing local authorities.
