ANCI Lazio participated in the first stage of the “Cities of Possibility. Tourism, major events, and augmented city” roadshow, an initiative promoted by Fondazione Italia Digitale and WINDTRE that brought together institutions, public administrations, businesses, and experts to discuss the role of data and digital technologies in urban service planning and the development of increasingly efficient, sustainable, and attractive cities.
The meeting, hosted in Rome, provided an important opportunity for dialogue on the themes of tourism flow governance, mobility, major event management, and digital innovation, highlighting how data sharing and analysis can support administrations in strategic decisions and in the design of services that are increasingly responsive to the needs of citizens and visitors.
For ANCI Lazio intervened Marina Battisti, a member of the Governing Board, who emphasised the importance of strengthening collaboration between Municipalities, so that large cities, starting with Rome, can become a driving force for the promotion of the entire regional territory. In this perspective, digital tools can also help to enhance lesser-known Municipalities, creating integrated tourist routes and favouring a more balanced distribution of flows, with benefits for both the Capital and the surrounding territories.
ANCI Lazio has reiterated its willingness to promote collaborative networks between local authorities, supporting initiatives that favour more widespread tourism development and the enhancement of local distinctiveness. During the speech, greetings from the President of ANCI Lazio, Daniele Sinibaldi, were also conveyed, and thanks were extended to the organisers for the opportunity to discuss a strategic theme for the future of cities and municipalities.
