Tuesday, October 27, 2026, From 10:30 to 13:30, in the Council Chamber of the Municipality of Rieti, the local consultation workshop will be held. “From local action to public policies – From citizens” proposals to recommendations for the mountain municipalities of Lazio”, organized by ANCI Lazio within the framework of the European project MOVES – Mountain Voices for Engaged and Sustainable Democracy, co-funded by the European Union through the CERV program.
The initiative represents an important opportunity for dialogue and participation, with the aim of involving local administrators and public officials, representatives of associations and civil society organizations, young people and citizens in the development of concrete proposals to strengthen democratic participation and promote more inclusive and sustainable public policies in the mountainous regions of Lazio.
The workshop is part of the participatory process initiated by the MOVES project through the previous territorial forums in Campoli Appennino and Rocca Priora, during which citizens had the opportunity to share experiences, identify critical issues, and propose possible solutions to the main challenges affecting mountain communities. The event in Rieti will allow for further deepening and developing the findings, verifying the applicability of the proposals to different territorial contexts and transforming them into recommendations addressed to local administrations, the Lazio Region, and European institutions.
The morning will be characterized by activities for discussion and moments of participatory work, through live surveys, thematic tables and Open Space methodologies, which will allow participants to identify the main difficulties that hinder the participation of citizens and together define possible actions to overcome them. Particular attention will be paid to the involvement of different generations, youth participation and the use of innovative tools to foster dialogue between institutions and local communities.
The recommendations developed during the workshop will contribute to the definition of the final results of the MOVES project and will be presented at the European final conference, scheduled in Rome, bringing to the attention of the institutions the needs and proposals coming directly from the territories.
Through this initiative, ANCI Lazio confirms its commitment to promoting the active involvement of local communities and to enhancing the role of mountain municipalities, fostering dialogue between citizens and administrations and supporting participatory processes capable of translating into concrete actions for the development of territories.
