At the Lazio Regional Council, a moment of awareness-raising was held for schools, in collaboration with Donna Donna Onlus, ANCI Lazio and ARSIAL. The project “Origine Comune” products were also featured, to highlight the link between food, culture and the territory.
Today, October 20, at the Lazio Regional Council headquarters, the event “Merenda Insieme – Gustiamo insieme la vita, abbracciamoci” took place, an important initiative dedicated to the prevention and information on eating disorders and the promotion of healthy lifestyles. The meeting, organized by Donna Donna Onlus on the initiative of the President of the Lazio Regional Council Antonello Aurigemma, saw the collaboration of ANCI Lazio and ARSIAL, with the contribution of the Lazio Region, involving the world of schools in a process of awareness-raising on the relationship between food, body and emotions.
At the heart of the initiative is the theme “Inside the Earth… Inside of Us! A Journey between Food, Body, and Emotions in Lazio that Nourishes”, a message that highlights the importance of rediscovering the value of food not only as a primary need, but also as an expression of well-being, sharing, identity, and culture. The meeting provided an opportunity for reflection and discussion with the students, promoting greater awareness about eating disorders, the importance of prevention, and the need to build a balanced and positive relationship with food.
The initiative was organized by Donna Donna Onlus, led by Nadia Accetti, For a long time, ANCI Lazio has been committed to raising awareness and preventing eating disorders, and combating stereotypes related to body image. This event represents another step in the collaboration process that ANCI Lazio is undertaking with the association, sharing the goal of promoting awareness-raising and prevention initiatives that can involve institutions, communities, and especially the younger generations on issues of great social importance.
A particularly significant moment of the day was the snack shared with the students, prepared with the products of “Origine Comune”, the project promoted by ANCI Lazio to enhance the agro-food excellences of the territories, local traditions and the culture of food. Through the tasting of local products, the participants had the opportunity to get closer to a heritage made up of flavors, knowledge and identity, rediscovering the meaning of food as an element of connection, conviviality and belonging.
The Origine Comune project, which puts the enhancement of typical local products and gastronomic traditions of the Lazio municipalities at the heart of its objectives, fully fits into the spirit of the initiative, helping to spread a conscious food culture that focuses on quality, product origin and connection with the local community. The snack has thus become not only a moment of sharing, but also an educational opportunity to teach the younger generation about the value of local products and the communities that preserve them.
