A request for a discussion with the Government to ensure greater resources for local authorities and support services for citizens.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yesterday, Tuesday 27 October, in Rome, at the ANCI national headquarters, the Steering Committee of the National Association of Italian Municipalities was held, dedicated to examining the main issues affecting local authorities, with particular attention to the 2027 Budget Law and the increasing economic difficulties that municipal administrations are facing. At the heart of the discussion was the need to ensure that municipalities have adequate resources to support the increase in energy costs, public services and social spending, in an economic context characterized by inflation and increasing pressure on the budgets of local authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The national president of ANCI, Gaetano Manfredi, highlighted that the price increase is affecting not only families, but also the ability of administrations to guarantee essential services. Particular concern concerns the expenses for the care of minors, support for people with disabilities, and the increased burdens for staff, which weigh increasingly significantly on municipal budgets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the priorities indicated by ANCI are the strengthening of resources allocated to social services, the coverage of the higher energy costs, and the strengthening of the local police forces to meet the growing security needs of the communities. Manfredi also reiterated the need for institutional dialogue with the Government, also in light of the exchange of letters with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, confirming the Association\u2019s willingness to identify shared solutions within the next fiscal maneuver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the Steering Committee, other topics of particular relevance to local administrations were also addressed, including the reform of the Road Code, concessions for maritime property, the update of the Local Police reform, the Home Plan and the National Plan for the Restoration of Nature. These are issues that directly involve the competences and responsibilities of the municipalities, which are called upon to manage normative transformations, new social needs and important challenges related to the development and sustainability of territories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The comparison confirms the central role of ANCI in representing the interests of local autonomies and in promoting a constant dialogue with national institutions, so that the municipalities are provided with the necessary tools and resources to continue ensuring efficient services and concrete responses to citizens.
