To support municipalities in facing this challenge, ANCI Lazio, in collaboration with Citt\u00e0 Metropolitana di Roma Capitale and GMATICS, is promoting the meeting \u201dExtreme heat in cities: satellite observation to foster climate adaptation strategies for municipalities\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The meeting will take place tomorrow, Wednesday 15th July, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, in a hybrid format at Villa Altieri in Rome and online, bringing together local administrators, institutions, businesses, and experts to share tools and best practices for strengthening urban resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the heart of the discussion will be the opportunities offered by the most advanced Earth Observation technologies and the use of satellite data to monitor and combat the phenomenon of urban heat islands, providing local authorities with increasingly precise information for planning effective climate adaptation interventions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proceedings will be opened by <strong>Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, Pierluigi Sanna<\/strong>, which will illustrate the territorial strategies implemented to address the effects of climate change in the metropolitan area.
