Project: Rocca Priora hosts the second event dedicated to rights and services in mountain areas

It took place today, at the Benedetto Robazza Museum of Rocca Priora, the second meeting of the European project MOVES – Mountain Voices for Engaged and Sustainable Democracy, co-funded by the European Union and promoted by ANCI Lazio together with international partners.

The meeting, dedicated to Thematic forum on rights and access to services, It represented an important moment of dialogue between institutions, local administrators, citizens and stakeholders of the territory, with the aim of initiating a shared path of Co-creation of a Local Action Plan for the mountainous areas of Lazio.

After the project has been launched, the path enters its real essence, bringing the main critical issues affecting the interior areas to the center of the debate, starting with access to essential services and participation in democratic life.

The MOVES project aims to counteract the phenomenon of democratic disengagement which characterizes many mountain areas in Italy, Albania and Portugal, with particular attention to the categories most exposed to the risk of marginalization, including young people, women, the elderly and minorities.

During the meeting in Rocca Priora, useful reflections and proposals emerged that can be used to strengthen:

Active citizenship

inclusive participatory processes

Dialogue between local communities and institutions

The forum has also enabled the collection of concrete contributions from the participants, which will form the basis for the definition of more effective territorial actions and policies that meet the real needs of mountain communities.

Today’s event represents another step in the MOVES project, which will continue in the coming months with new activities of involvement and exchange, with the aim of strengthening territorial cohesion and promoting sustainable and inclusive development of the inner areas.

At the end of the event, both the ANCI Lazio Consultations and the Association’s Board of Directors met, which deliberated on new projects aimed at promoting the growth and strengthening of associative activities.

“The MOVES project represents a concrete opportunity to bring the needs of mountain areas back to the center and strengthen the bond between institutions and citizens,” said Daniele Sinibaldi, President of ANCI Lazio. “Through these moments of dialogue, we want to build shared paths capable of generating effective and lasting responses for the territories.”

A special thank you goes to the Mayor of Rocca Priora for the hospitality and availability, which contributed to the full success of the initiative.

<div style="height:42px" aria-hidden="true"
